BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Business owners in the Avondale area have had it up to well…they’ve had it with flood damage.
They think clogged drainage ditches are a big part of the problem.
They’ve been after the City of Birmingham to fix the problem, but city representatives say their hands are tied because the ditches are private property.
Now, people who have invested a lot in the revitalization of that area are bracing for more flooding and hoping the rain won’t wash away their dreams.
Coming up on CBS 42 News this evening we’ll have a look at just how bad the situation has gotten and the perspective from some of the people who live and work in the area.
We’ll also have more on what it is costing them and what they say needs to be done.
