BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – Less than a year after its grand opening, Belle Foods is selling all of its remaining stores across Alabama, Georgia and Mississippi.

Belle Foods announced an agreement with C&S Wholesale Grocers, Inc. for debtor-in-possession financing Wednesday.

The move was approved by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Alabama.

The company announced the plans on its Facebook page on Wednesday afternoon.

The development comes just weeks after the company was forced to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

A total of 44 stores in Alabama, Georgia and Mississippi will be sold.
