ALEXANDRIA, Va. (WIAT) — Cassundra Johnson considers herself lucky.
Her young son, Marqui, was left in the back of a daycare van earlier in the week.
He was inside the van for than an hour before waking up, letting himself out and knocking on the daycare’s front door. Marqui was sweaty and dehydrated.
Now, his mother wants those responsible to be held accountable.
“I’m furious and I don’t want it to happen to no other child,” Cassundra Johnson said. “I went them to be fined, whatever. I have no sympathy when it comes to my child, any of my children, or anyone else’s child.”
The owner of the daycare says the incident is under investigation.
