CENTER POINT, Ala. (WIAT) — A special group of children will benefit from a charity golf tournament held Monday.
The Center Point Fire Department held its annual golf tournament at Grayson Valley Country Club.
It’s held each year in memory of Rickey Davis, who died in the line of duty in 2006.
The tournament benefits charities he supported, including Children’s of Alabama and the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
“Rickey always liked to give back. He loved the kids,” Center Point firefighter Chris Horn said. “Anytime we went anywhere, he always took time to play with the kids. School functions, Rickey was always the first one with a smile on his face. He woke up with a smile on his face, he went to bed with a smile on his face.”
The Center Point Fire Department also donates wagons to Children’s of Alabama in Rickey’s honor.
