BUFFALO, NY. (WIAT) — Jason McNeil, a well-known Tuscaloosa businessman, was attacked and severely injured at a concert in Buffalo, New York in early July.

McNeil’s alleged attacker, Craig Lawson of Ontario, Canada, was scheduled to have a preliminary hearing Tuesday, but it was postponed until September 3, 2013.

Lawson is currently free on bond.

Meanwhile, McNeil continues to slowly recover from injuries sustained during the attack.

He underwent surgery Tuesday to replace a feeding tube.

His family says he is making strides in his recovery.

McNeil can now sit up and is responding to his family. He’s also going through physical therapy.
