TARRANT, Ala. (WIAT) — Two people are in custody after a breaking and entering case turns into a police chase.

Vestavia Hills police responded to a breaking and entering call early this morning, and the suspects took off when officers arrived.

Vestavia, Homewood, Tarrant and Birmingham police all joined in the chase for the suspects.

It ended with the suspects crashing along Tallapoosa Street in Tarrant just before 5 a.m.

Tallapoosa was blocked off while police cleared the scene; it has since been reopened to traffic.
