TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) — Police in Tuscaloosa are investigating a shooting and a stabbing at the Forrester Gardens Apartments off of 37th Street East in Tuscaloosa. Each are being treated as separate incidents, but police say they are related.
The Tuscaloosa Police Department says a child was shot at Forrester Gardens Apartments in the lower body area. Police say the shot came from outside the building.
The child was taken to DCH Regional Medical Center and was then transported to Children’s of Alabama in Birmingham. The injuries are not believed to be life threatening, but the child is listed in serious condition.
A separate stabbing incident occurred outside the building and left one woman stabbed and a man with a cut on his hand. Each were taken to DCH Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Police say a suspect is in custody, but no arrests have been made.
