Ground beef sold at Winn-Dixie, Bi-Lo may be contaminated with E. coli

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – Ground beef sold at Winn-Dixie and Bi-Lo stores could be contaminated with E. coli.

The affected product is fresh, 93 percent lean ground beef.

The beef was sold at stores in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana and Mississippi and was shipped around July 18, 2013.

So far, there have been no reports of illnesses.

Anyone who has the product in their home can return it to the store for a refund.
