(WIAT)- The revitalization of a historic area in Birmingham may pick up a little steam thanks to a deep-seeded passion. The Redzone is a new sports bar and grill moving into the vacant space across from Chik-Fil-A, and they plan to be open in time for the kick-off to college football season. The restaurant will feature 31 large screen televisions, an “upscale” menu selection during the day, a late-night menu, bar service, pool table, and arcade games. The hope is the establishment will join the wave of success that new businesses in Southside have been enjoying for the last year and a half. “In the last eighteen months, you’ve seen World of Beer come into the area, Waffle House, Black Market, you’ve got Firehouse Subs,” says co-owner Brian Hedrick. “So, I think the area is really on it’s way up and we really want to be a part of that.”
The restaurant is currently looking to fill 30-40 positions, including servers, cooks, and bartenders. If you’re interested in applying, stop by their location at 1108 20th St. South during normal business hours Monday-Friday and pick up an application.
