BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT)– A UAB health program is working to educate church leaders about the importance of having a healthy congregation. The UAB Minority Health and Health Disparities Center partnered with the Mount Pilgrim Baptist District Association for the project. A grant from the national REACH coalition funded the presentations. The goal of the program is to teach minorities to embrace healthy living and help reduce the risk of heart disease, cancers, diabetes, and other chronic illnesses.
