BIBB COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — Convicted church arsonists Benjamin Mosely and Matthew Cloyd are hoping to follow in the footsteps of their partner in crime, Russell Lee Debusk Jr.

The two men are asking Bibb County Circuit Judge Marvin Wiggins for an early release from state prison.

Debusk Jr. was released just a little over a year ago.

The three former college students burned five churches in Bibb County in 2006.

Cloyd and Mosely also burned four more churches across West Alabama.
