PINSON, Ala. (WIAT) — Friday night football took a step closer Monday with the opening of practice.
One team looking to go the distance this year is the Clay Chalkville Cougars. They have every right to look that way with a 30-5 record in the past three years.
The team is returning six starters including, quarterback Hayden Moore. Moore, a three star prospect and Cincinnati commit, will be the offensive leader.
Head coach Jerry Hood says this years team still has to find their identity.
“This bunch has not won a game, has not been through camp, and if they’re as dedicated as I think they are, they’ll put their own legacy forward this year. It’s the seniors team each and every year and this is a whole new chapter, which is a great thing about football,” said Hood.
