(WIAT)- It wasn’t too long ago that the New York Yankees were associated with greatness, class, and dignity. Names like Mantle, Ruth, and Gehrig harken the glory days of baseball. Now, one name is the source of controversy: Rodriguez. The ongoing sage of Alex Rodriguez has baseball fans split. David Koncsol believe Rodriguez is being judged without a proper public trial. “I kind of feel like he’s getting a raw deal,” he said. “Major League seems to want him, and the fans have really turned against him.”
Chris Smith is in the other camp. “I believe he should be suspended,” he said while taking in the Barons home tilt with the Blue Wahoos on Monday. “We have a lot of youth that play baseball that look up to him.”
Rodriguez is one of thirteen players facing suspension due to PED use. He has until Thursday to file an appeal.
