BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Tuesday is the thirtieth anniversary for National Night Out, an event designed to bring awareness to crime while bringing communities together.
Police departments around the nation will hit the streets to meet the people they serve and protect.
National Night Out is held on the first Tuesday of August each year.
Planned events include street parties, information on how to start a neighborhood watch and community citizen patrols.
