AUBURN, Ala. (WIAT) Monday marked the 4th time the Tigers practiced for the 2013 Fall season.
There are still questions un-answered at the quarterback position and the receiver slots are still being determined.
CJ Uzomah says once they put on the pads, the picture becomes more clear.
“Oh I think we are all excited. I’m excited. We are ready to get after it. You know shells is kind of like a tease right now. we have shells today and tomorrow. but I think we are ready to get after it you know and get full contact,” said Uzomah.
“When we get full pads that’s always great fora linebacker, loves to take hits loves to take downs, said linebacker Kris Frost. “So we are excited for it, we are just making sure we know all of our keys and all of our alignments and everything.”
With players putting on the pads, it gives the quarterbacks more of a feel for the offense and the coaches evaluating them.
“When you have a whole lot of reps and you’re going quick there’s some good,” said head coach Gus Malzahn.
“But until you can really just get in the film room and see things. Like I said earlier, you can evaluate all the positions better once you get shells on and QB is no different. “
Wednesday will be a big day in the Auburn quarterback race. It will be the 1st scrimmage of the year. Auburn insiders think it could be a big first step for Nick Marshall or Jeremy Johnson.
