COTTONDALE, Ala. (WIAT) — Repairs are underway to fix a Cottondale Road washed away by last week’s heavy rains.
Residents saw water covering the road to the Paddington Park mobile home community, and then they watched as slabs of asphalt began to wash away.
Originally, residents were told it wasn’t safe to cross what was left of the road, even on foot.
However, city engineers have inspected the road and deemed it safe for emergency vehicles and residents.
