BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — The Blazers had a wet start to the 2013 football season. Practiced was moved to Legion Field. However, the weather really didn’t play a factor.
They start the year with All-Freshman star quarterback Austin Brow healthy and ready to go and senior quarterback Jonathan Perry primed for action as well.
UAB was in helmets and shorts Tuesday. The pads will come later.
The Blazers open up their season with the Troy Trojans. Head coach Garrick McGee says they are just trying to find their identity right now.
“We are really just concentrating on where we are and how we can get better and developing and getting better where we can be in a position where when we run out on the field, no matter who’s on the other side, we understand how we are and how we’re going to play,” said McGee.
UAB’s best two appearances last year came late in the season, including a win over Marshall.
