ALABASTER, Ala. (WIAT) — On Wednesday afternoon, a truck collided with a train.

The movie-like accident happened at the intersection of Railroad Street and 11th Avenue Southwest in Alabaster.

According to an eyewitness, the driver of the truck got his trailer stuck on the crossing. In order to get the trailer out of the situation he started to unload it when the collision happened.

“Walked out my front door and I see this guy driving this little concrete machine crush down as the trailer he drove it off of, got hit by the train, “ Henry Copeland, a witness of the accident, said on Thursday. “Did quite a bit of damage, but real lucky this guy’s alive.”

The accident happened right up the street from the new Alabaster City Hall.

Beatrice Bode contributed to this report.
