(WIAT)- Robinson’s gas station was a little busier than normal Wednesday afternoon. With a $425 million jackpot up for grabs with the Powerball drawing, the parking lot at the convenience store was packed with Alabama license plates. With no lottery in Alabama, the Tallapoosa exit five miles into the Peach State is the nearest place for many Alabama residents to try their luck. “If you have a ticket, you have a chance,” said Larry Christian, who drove all the way from Birmingham. “If you have no ticket, you have zero chance.”
There’s no shortage of ways to spend $425 million. Keisha Thomas, from Anniston, would buy a new car and home if she took home the big prize. Christian said he would use it to pay for his childrens college education. Other plans ranged from four-wheeler ATVs to brand new trucks.
There’s also several different ways to pick your numbers. The most popular method is using the computer-generated “Quick Pick” option, but others include using birthdays, anniversary dates, and high school jersey numbers.
The lottery was drawn at 10pm Central Time. The winning numbers are: 05, 25, 30, 58, 59 and Powerball 32.
