(WIAT) – The football field is a rough and tumble place.
Some athletes get familiar with the emergency room, however, in Cullman there’s a section reserved just for them. Cullman Regional Medical Clinic has been offering a free Friday night clinic for years.
“We’ve had a great reaction from parents because they don’t have to sit at home and wonder if their child has an injury that needs to be seen,” Executive Director of Rehab. Services, J.W. Hightower said.
Cullman Regional Medical Center’s ONE Rehab & Sports Medicine program offers the Friday night injury clinic starting at 9 p.m.
Although the clinic treats most injuries, some are so serious they go immediately to the emergency room — like head injuries and concussions.
The clinic is open to visiting teams as well.
The clinic begins on Friday, August 30 and will run through the regular high school football season ending Friday, November 1.
