Auburn, Ala. -(WIAT) “Tackle football…Real Football. Like you’re going to see in the very first game.”
That’s how Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn referred to the first scrimmage of fall camp Wednesday as the quarterbacks were available targets. he’s trying to create separation between the Tigers four quarterback options.
“The big thing is when you’re evaluating guys, and you’ve got four of them, you have to narrow things down,” Coach said. “The way to do that is to go live. I’ve done that before, and I felt like it was important that we did that now.”
Quarterbacks being available targets, something new to Senior LB Jake Holland “The first time I’ve been in a scrimmage where the quarterbacks have gone live, so there’s definitely a different feel but it brought the defense to the next level too because we have the QB aspect because we have athletic quarterbacks.”Tigers start two-a-days tomorrow, Fan day coming up Sunday, August 11th.
