BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — The Vulcan is a Birmingham icon and has been for quite a long time.

Since the 1930s, the world’s largest cast iron statue has had a lot of visitors, and they’ve taken home a lot of memorabilia.

Now, the Vulcan wants memorabilia returned.

Museum curators are collecting artifacts from the Vulcan for a new exhibit called Vulcan Keepsakes.

They’re looking for everything from figurines and photos to postcards and buttons.

The items will be collected every Wednesday in August between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.

More information about the exhibit can be found by clicking here.
