AUBURN, Ala. (WIAT) –The Auburn team did not impress head coach Gus Malzahn Thursday during their first practice of the day. Malzahn was disappointed with the lack of effort and mental toughness his guys were giving.

The Tigers have another big chance to improve come this Saturday when they scrimmage for the 2nd time. Coaches went through the film from the first 107 play scrimmage Wednesday. Coach said they actually slowed down a bit, but Jermaine Whitehead had a different opinion of what slow is.

“I mean I don’t think slow is a good word. It was still high, but you know we had the pace really fast. It wasn’t the fastest I’ve seen it, but it was a good tempo though,” said Whitehead.
