Students in public and non-profit private schools and child care facilities can have a full meal each day, regardless of economic status.
Since 1946, The National School Lunch Program has kept students fed and focused for classes. The program is operating in more than 100,000 facilities, and serving more than 31 million children.
Depending on family income, students can qualify for either free or reduced meals. Eligibility requirements are determined by federal poverty guidelines, and if families receive certain types of federal assistance.
