Midfield house fire under investigation; 2 dead

UPDATE: An investigation is currently being conducted by the Midfield Police Department, State of Alabama Fire Marshall’s Office, and the Jefferson County Coroner’s office to determine the cause of the fire and the cause of death of the two victims.

The victims have been identified as 36 year old William Jason Flowers and his wife 32 year old Jennifer Flowers.

ORIGINAL: MIDFIELD, Ala. (WIAT)- Midfield fire and police are currently on the scene of a house fire at 307 Woodward Road.

Sgt. Jessie Bell with the Midfield Police Department told us that police and fire were called to the home around 3 p.m. Saturday.

Two people are dead, but the cause of death is under investigation at this time.
