BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — The first day of school is only one week away for most students.

Thanks to one organization, summer vacation is ending with a bang.

The Children’s Dance Foundation hosted its third annual community fest in downtown Homewood Sunday.

Participants got a chance to tour the CDF facilities and learn more about getting involved with the organization.

The  free event offered plenty of fun for all ages.

“We had a drum circle, kids crafts, beach ball room for toddlers, dancing, of course, dance performances, food and drinks, bounce house, sidewalk chalk art, a photo booth. So much going on for all ages,” Shellie Chamber said.

Donations were taken at the event. All proceeds benefit the foundation’s programs.
