Birmingham, AL (WIAT)-The ongoing investigation into Johnny Manziel potentially violating NCAA rules by receiving money for signing autographs has taken a turn today.
If Manziel did violate NCAA rules, a Texas law could put put the dealers involved at risk of being sued by his university, Texas A&M.
To be liable, the person must have known a rule was violated. The violation must also lead to disciplinary action against the student or institution.
Manziel is currently being investigated by the NCAA and his attorney, Jim Darnell of El Paso, Texas, has said the Aggies quarterback is cooperating with the investigation.
