TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) – The new school year is quickly approaching for the University of Alabama, and some students are back in Tuscaloosa early for a chance to give younger students a better learning environment.

A group of honors students have been at work all week long doing various community service projects.

Alabama Action has been working for about a week at Brookwood Elementary School.

They’re working on a number of renovation projects, including a brand new baseball field.

In all, 250 University of Alabama honors students were involved in Alabama Action.
