BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — It’s been one week since UAB head coach Garrick McGee dismissed one of the best players on the team, wide receiver Jackie Williams.

Jackie Williams now attends the University of Central Florida. He will have to sit out this season. Williams will play next year as a fifth year senior for UCF.

McGee was asked why he made the decision against Williams. He pointed towards an intent to change the “culture of football” in the UAB locker room. McGee did say Williams was a good person and an outstanding football player.
