BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Its about time for most teams to begin installing their game plans for their first opponent.

On Sunday UAB will start putting together their game plan for their opener with Troy.

Tight ends coach Joe Henry has seen a huge improvement from his unit this preseason. That includes junior Kenard Backman who has developed into a new role.

“Kenard has come a long way,” said head coach Garrick McGee. “One thing he really wanted to work on was his leadership and being verbal because he has not always been a vocal guy. So he has been working on his vocal leadership and our conditioning has increased tremendously,” said McGee.

Hey Blazer fans, if you want to meet coach McGee and the team, stop by the outlet shops of Grand River Saturday. Their fan day even is rom 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
