CHELSEA, Ala. (WIAT) – A Shelby County man previously out on bond and charged with five counts of kidnapping is back behind bars.
Ryan Matthew Sims is accused of holding five students against their will at Chelsea Middle School. He’s also accused of making terrorist threats.
No students were injured during the incident.
Sims was released on bond in June. One of the conditions of his bond stated that he was not allowed to have any weapons.
On Aug. 14, deputies say they found a box of 49 rounds and live .22 caliber cartridges under his bed.
The judge revoked his bond the same day and deputies arrested Sims.
He remains in jail and is being held without bond.
