BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – Youth evangelist Matt Pitt remains behind bars in Shelby County, and the ministry he served in has released a statement on the status of the ministry as it continues without Pitt at the helm.
Pitt faces charges of impersonating a peace officer.
He pleaded guilty to similar charges in 2012.
Over the weekend, The Basement, the ministry Pitt helped found in 2004, released a statement regarding the situation.
