AUBURN – The Auburn Tigers continued game-week preparation for Saturday’s opener with a two-hour workout in pads Tuesday afternoon at the Auburn Athletics Complex practice facility.

“Game week is here and we are very excited about that,” Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn said. “We are playing an opponent who is very improved. They have a majority of their guys offensively and defensively back. That is a concern.

“It doesn’t matter if it is the first game or any game. I want us to play well, I want us to do things right, to be disciplined, protect the football, play hard; it is no different than any others. It would be great to get off to a good start.”

The Tigers will return to the practice field Wednesday afternoon.

Auburn’s season opener is this Saturday, August 31, at Jordan-Hare Stadium versus Washington State in a 6 p.m. Central kickoff. Tickets remain for the season opener. The undefeated 1993 team will be recognized, as well as Tiger, who took the original tethered-free eagle flight 13 years ago.
