TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) –We’re one day away from the first college football games, three days until the big Alabama-Virginia Tech game.

It’s one of the biggest headline games in the country going into the season.
Its “Beamer Ball vs. “The Process”

The Tide practiced today. Alabama is a 20.5 point favorite heading into the Georgia Dome against Virginia Tech. Alabama head coach Nick Saban is undefeated in season openers under Alabama. Atlanta is a big stage for both teams.

“You know these games, playing in these neutral site games have a history of giving us great momentum,great start,great exposure,” said Saban. “Our fans have always demonstrated great enthusiasm for these games. You know and I think it’s going to be very important to show the same thing in this particular game.”

Today Hokie head coach Frank Beamer called Alabama the best team, all around, he’s ever faced with Virginia Tech in his 27 year tenure.

“I never thought there would be a team as dominating for as many years as they have,” said Beamer. “I never thought that would happen again in college football.”
