JASPER, Ala.(WIAT)- The first high school game of the season did not end well for two teams.
Trouble arose after the Walker Vikings and the Cullman Bearcats got into a full-fledged fight involving coaches and players from both teams. The brawl happened when Walker High School lost 13-10.
Kaylor Hodges, a student at Walker High School, says, ” It’s awfully sad. I’m in the Walker band, and I’m quite ashamed of the entire deal.”
Above is a still image taken by Hodges. You can see a city officer holding back Cullman Defensive Coordinator, Matt Hopper.
Hodges tells us the fight broke out after a contested call toward the end of the game that gave Cullman county the win.
CBS 42 will provide more details when they become available.
