(WIAT) – The Alabama High School Athletic Association is meeting in Montgomery Tuesday to review a brawl on the football field Friday.

The incident has prompted a police investigation and at least one coach’s job is in jeopardy.

Meanwhile, parents say this is the worst possible way to kick off the season.

Parents in both Cullman and Jasper are saying ,  bloody coaches and law enforcement out on the field holding them back is not what they want their children exposed to … the AHSAA plans to review the incident in Tuesday.

Some residents believe  this long time rivalry between Cullman and Walker High school is  out of control and the schools should take a break from playing each other for at least a year or two.

Walker coach John Holladay has been placed on administrative leave.

Cullman school board officials say they have no plans for any disciplinary actions against anyone involved in the Friday night incident.
