TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) — Tuesday Alabama wide receiver Kenny Bell posted on Twitter that he was leaving the team to deal with personal issues. A few hours later it was reported from the coaching staff that Bell received a “personal day” and let him get his issues in order.
“Sometimes we have personal things we need to get ironed out,” said Saban. “And you know today he had a day to do that. So there’s really nothing else to talk about when it comes to that.”
Saban was also asked about AJ McCarron’s ingrown toenail tonight after the Tide practiced today. His words got heated in his response.
“Aight and we can make it something and we can make it an excuse, but really worrying about that kind of stuff, rather than what you need to do to play well,” said Saban. “Might be contributing to how you play and to me that’s the issue. Let’s focus on what we need to do to play well. Not all the external factors and all that stuff. And the people around him need to play better so that he has the chance to play well…so it’s got nothing to do with his toe.”
