GADSDEN, Ala. (AP) – Gadsden police say they’ve recovered tens of thousands of dollars’ worth of stolen property in what may have been a burglary ring.
Police Lt. Mike Moon said Wednesday that officers have recovered guns, jewelry, power tools – and even a crossbow – that were reported stolen from homes in Gadsden and surrounding areas in Etowah County.
Officials estimate the goods may be worth up to $20,000. Police say two people being considered as persons of interest in the burglaries have been arrested on parole violations, but charges in connection with the stolen property have not been filed.
Moon says police are working to reconnect burglary victims with their stolen property. He says some property has been returned to its rightful owner with help from serial numbers and jewelry appraisals.
