Man accused of attacking Tuscaloosa businessman pleads not guilty

BUFFALO, New York (WIAT) – The man accused of attacking a well-known Tuscaloosa businessman outside of a Kid Rock concert in Buffalo, New York, says he is not guilty.

Craig Lawson, 34, of Ontario, Canada, entered the plea in a Western New York courtroom on Thursday.

He’s accused of punching 41-year-old Jason McNeil after a Kid Rock concert in July. As a result, McNeil suffered a traumatic brain injury.

McNeil is still being treated at a Buffalo-area hospital.

Kid Rock reportedly donated $5,000 to a fund set up for McNeil’s medical expenses.
