TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) — Johnny Manziel graced the cover of TIME Magazine this week. It’s the first time a college football player has made the cover in more than 40 years.

Red shirt Freshman Dalvin Tomlinson injured his knee Wednesday during practice.  Saban said he will have surgery and update the media when he has more information. Tomlinson also missed all of last year due to a knee injury.

Alabama practiced 90 minutes  Thursday in the beginning of preparations for the Texas A&M Aggies.

“Playing against a very, very good team,” said Saban. “A lot of outstanding players, a fantastic quarterback and in a very tough place to play. So it will challenge us in a lot of ways, especially our mental toughness, our ability to sustain, our ability to execute in difficult circumstances especially when things don’t always go our way.”

Last week, the Tide held Virginia Tech’s Logan Thomas to just 59 passing yards and two rushing yards.
