CULLMAN, Ala. (WIAT) — Unsportsmanlike behavior from two coaches seems to have given the entire state of Alabama a black eye, with folks on the internet hurling insults left and right.

Comments from major network sites include the following: “Typical of their kind”, “It’s just what they do down there”, “They have a hard time prosecuting crime down there, no dental records…. and everyone’s DNA is a match ” and “This is Alabama.”

Some residents say jealousy of Alabama’s exceptional football legacy is actually what’s fueling this social media bashing.

With Alabama high school football considered among the top five in the country and the University of Alabama’s recent string of national championships, there may be some sports fans with grudges.

One resident says these kinds of situations can allow prejudices to come out that have nothing to do with football.
