Tuscaloosa man faces attempted murder charges

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) – A man in Tuscaloosa is facing attempted murder charges after trying to shoot someone twice in the same day.

Mario Rolando Dimas was arrested on Saturday around 11 a.m. by deputies with the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.

According to Sgt. Dale Phillips with the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, Dimas robbed and assaulted a victim on Aug. 30. The victim reported the incident shortly thereafter and an investigation was launched.

On Friday, Sept. 6 at around 6:00 a.m., Dimas went to the victim’s house and shot at him multiple times with a handgun, perhaps because Dimas felt the victim caused him to lose his job.

A warrant was obtained for his arrest and deputies attempted to locate Dimas.

Later in the day, Dimas returned to the victim’s house and fired shots into an unoccupied car.

He was located the next day and taken into custody.
