MOUNTAIN BROOK, Ala. (WIAT) — If you walk into Otey’s Tavern in the heart of Mountain Brook this week, you’ll find a 3 foot tall look-a-like of Johnny Manziel. He’s in the form of a pinata.
“Johnny Pinata” is complete with cash money in one hand, and a sharpie in the other. The jersey even hammers home the play on the off-field reports that Manziel was paid for autographs by putting a number sign as the number 2 on his jersey.
Otey’s owner, Will Haver, said the idea came from a conversation from friends and thought it would be a good idea.
“Ahh you know we are just kinda poking some fun at Johnny Manziel and some of his alleged autograph sessions and money,” said Haver. “And since this is such a huge week for college football in alabama…we’re just kinda poking some fun at A&M and Johnny Manziel.”
On a side note, Haver said the woman who made the “Johnny Pinata”… doesn’t even know who Johnny Manziel is.
Alabama fans or any other fans can take a swing at “Johnny Pinata” Wednesday night at Otey’s Tavern.
Of course, the big game between Alabama and Texas A&M kicks of Saturday on CBS42 at 2:30 p.m.
