9 students charged with affray after fight at Jackson-Olin High School

ENSLEY, Ala. (WIAT) – A fight at Jackson-Olin High School Wednesday resulted in school resource officers using mace to disperse the group.

According to Sgt. Johnny Williams with the Birmingham Police Department, 11 students were involved in the fight that happened around 1 p.m., though nine were observed fighting. School resource officers intervened and used mace to disburse the group who were fighting.

The nine students who were observed fighting were all transported to jail and have been charged with affray.

Jackson-Olin High School has a total of three school resource officers at the school during the school year.
