JASPER, Ala. (WIAT) — Wanda Kiser is expected to be back in Alabama in the next week, according to her defense attorney.
Jay T. McCamic says Kiser has an extradition hearing coming up in the next few days in Summersville, West Virginia, although he doesn’t have an exact date.
McCamic says he is primarily based out of West Virginia and Pennsylvania but reached out to long time friend and colleague Richard Jaffe to work on the Walker County case.
Jaffe spoke exclusively to CBS42 following a closed door meeting with Walker County District Attorney Bill Adair Tuesday morning.
Jaffe says the meeting was extremely productive and he feels there is a willingness on both sides to get to the truth.
Meanwhile, the D.A.’s office says it has finally started receiving DNA results from the forensic lab in Arizona from the skull found in Jasper more than a year ago. They won’t confirm if the DNA was a match to either one of the missing women Mary Cobb or Wynona Delvecchio, but they did say there case is getting stronger.
