BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – The American Red Cross and SERVPRO teamed up Wednesday to help local organizations prepare for emergencies before they happen.
The two organizations offered a free “Readiness Fair”, where participants learned how to make preparedness a priority in their schools, organizations and businesses.
“A lot of people think about preparedness in the home, but not their businesses, their schools, and their organizations,” said Chris Osborne with the American Red Cross. “We’re having a Readiness Day so people can take some time and think about their preparedness for these places that they might be outside the home.”
Participants were encouraged to use a free program, called Ready Rating, which helps them become better prepared for disasters and emergencies.
