Tuscaloosa man charged in his uncle’s death


TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) – UPDATE: A second suspect has been arrested in connection with a 2013 capital murder case.

Shadrell Marguis Matthews, 37, was taken into custody at the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office and served with a capital murder warrant.

He has been placed in the Tuscaloosa County Jail with no bond.

ORIGINAL: A Tuscaloosa man is charged with capital murder in the death of his 67-year-old uncle.

Alexius Foster has been charged in the death of George Foster Jr., who was killed on June 13, 2013 inside his home in Tuscaloosa.

Evidence and facts of the case were presented to a grand jury on Tuesday in Tuscaloosa County, and an indictment was issued on Foster for capital murder.

Foster was already in jail and facing a murder charge in another case.

His is being held without bond.
