(WIAT)- There was a splash of fun served on the rocks Tuesday night at Todd English P.U.B. Four of Birmingham’s best “mixologists” squared off behind the bar in the “Birmingham’s Best Bartender” competition. The four contestants came from local bars and restaurants and had to make five drinks in ten minutes. Four of the drinks were chosen from a predetermined list, and the fifth was a “specialty” drink, unique to each bartender. The competitors were graded on knowledge of the contents, proper liquor distribution, and, of course, style! “The more bar flair you’ve got, the more you can do and keep control of what you’re doing, the higher your point total gets in this competition,” said Brad Eady, beverage manager at Todd English P.U.B. “So yeah, it’s all about flair.”
The winner of Tuesday nights contest will move on to a regional competition, with a trip to Vegas for a national showdown looming at the end of the road.
