BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — UAB put their first “W” in the win column on Saturday against Northwestern State.

Now in week 5, the Blazers prepare for their second SEC test of the season on the road at Vanderbilt.

UAB has just two wins against SEC opponents in the history of the football program.
They defeated Mississippi State in 2004 and LSU in 2000.
Saturday’s game against Vanderbilt could be a statement game but the Blazers are preparing for it just like any other game on the schedule.
UAB and Vandy will kickoff at 6:30 p.m.
If you can’t make the trip to Nashville, Timothy Alexander will be hosting a viewing party on campus at WOW Cafe on behalf of the UAB Football team beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday.
