Auburn Tigers: Bouncing back after first loss

Auburn, AL (WIAT)-After a bye week, Auburn prepares to bounce back from their first loss of the season against LSU. The Tigers spent their bye week working on the fundamentals and their game plan for No. 24 Ole Miss.

“We really got the chance to real sit out and look at the LSU game and correct all the mistakes that we had,” said Auburn linebacker Kris Frost.

Ole Miss is still a top 25 team despite being shutout by Alabama last week. The Tigers took advantage of the opportunity to watch the Rebels play against the top-ranked team in the country.

“I think they had three or four chances to kick field goals and they went for it on fourth down so it shows you that they are going to come in here with the mindset that they think they are better than us and they are to try going for everything they can get,” said Auburn safety Josh Holsey.

Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze and Gus Malzahn are both good friends who have each held the head coaching position at Arkansas State in 2011 and 2012.

“You got a job to do,” said Malzahn.  “You got to do whatever is best to help your team win. After the game we will get back to normal.”

Malzahn hopes the Auburn nation will bring the noise Saturday night.  With a similar high-tempo offense, a breakdown in the Rebels’ communication will favor The Tigers inside Jordan-Hare Stadium.
